[Roy Bahat] Move Fast And Break Things 2.0
As the "OG investor in the future of work," Roy will explore the concept of speed as a competitive advantage, offering a different perspective on the infamous "move fast and break things" mantra.
📅 September 18 @ 11:50am
📍 Oakland Museum of California
🎤 Roy Bahat in conversation with Marie SzutsKnown for his "real talk" approach to business and life, Roy will share practical insights on culture, connection, transparency, and success in the modern workplace. His blend of venture capital experience and forward-thinking ideas make this session one to look forward to.
During the session, Roy Bahat will challenge attendees to revisit traditional beliefs about workplace culture, asking whether we still hold true to the idea that "culture eats strategy for breakfast," for instance.
He will provoke thought on what truly needs to change in the future of work for 2024, encouraging participants to consider radical new approaches and rethink the very foundations of organizational culture.
Through a dynamic conversation with Marie Szuts, Roy will explore how we might explode outdated concepts and rebuild a more effective, inclusive workplace culture that meets the needs of today's workforce.

[Carine Kanimba] What does it mean to be a global citizen?
Together, Carine Kanimba and Y-Vonne Hutchinson will explore the interconnectedness of global issues and their impact on individual lives.
📅 September 18 @ 10:40am
📍 Oakland Museum of California
🎤 Carine Kanimba and Y-Vonne HutchinsonThis discussion brings together Kanimba's personal experience with the Rwandan genocide and the abduction of her father with Hutchinson's expertise as a international human rights lawyer and consultant on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Carine and Y-Vonne argue that events happening across the world are relevant to everyone’s own lives, even when there doesn’t seem to be a direct link. They disagree with the temptation to ignore international issues, and instead propose new ways to engage with global challenges without becoming overwhelmed.
Carine and Y-Vonne will talk about the intersection of DEI, human rights, and global belonging, and how these concepts are intrinsically linked in our increasingly interconnected world.
With the upcoming consequential US election in mind, the talk also goes into the significance of being a global citizen on the world stage. Carine and Y-Vonne will discuss how individual actions and awareness can contribute to broader international dynamics and policy decisions.
By the end of the, talk hopes to answer the question: what does it mean to be a global citizen?

🎤 led by Deanna DoanThis session will showcase how Eleccion's innovative approaches are being applied within a traditionally hierarchical intelligence agency, demonstrating that if such a significant and structured organization can embrace change, any company can.
Attendees will get insights into how non-hierarchical models can improve agility, innovation, and effectiveness even in the most unexpected environments.
